Tristan Eaton – Peace Tower

Tristan Eaton – Peace Tower

Tristan Eaton’s mural is executed on a surprising base: the water tower of the Salpêtrière hospital. Its cylindrical surface offers the viewer a work that can be looked at from 360 degrees around. Nicknamed “the eyes” by residents, because of the two pairs represented in black and white on each side, it is made up of images taken from popular culture, seeming to have been taken straight from comic strips. The background, composed of lettering of the words “peace” and “paix” with the dove subtly inserted, perfectly illustrates the title of the work. In his habitual manner, the artist has produced a work in vivid colours, of amazing visual richness.
